The importance of knowing about NDIS plans and funding categories.
An NDIS plan is a personalized document created for each participant that defines the type of support and funds they will receive from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Understanding how an NDIS plan works allows participants to use their funding effectively and maximise the support they receive.
NDIS plans contain three funding categories. Core supports are designed to provide assistance with everyday needs, capacity building supports help participants develop skills to improve their independence, and capital supports include the purchase of specialised equipment, home modifications, or other forms of assistive technology.
Many participants living in Sydney utilise experienced service providers for guidance and assistance in understanding their NDIS plans and requests.
The support workers at AALAA Care assist NDIS participants by providing services aligned with their funding, as well as guidance on how to effectively use that funding to promote independence and active participation within their community. Participants can learn how to fully utilise their NDIS funding by understanding all aspects of their NDIS plan and using it to achieve positive outcomes.
